Your Concrete or Asphalt Driveway Inspected. When?
Concrete or Asphalt Driveway Inspected
Concrete and asphalt driveways are the most common types of driveways in the area. While both concrete and asphalt are durable and low maintenance as a general rule, there are some instances in which cracks and pits can occur. It is a good idea to have your concrete or asphalt driveway inspected by a professional to determine if repair or replacement is best for your driveway.

Cracks or Pits
If you have cracks or pits in your concrete or asphalt driveway, they should be repaired as soon as possible. Cracks in concrete are really not a hazard for the most part, although they can be unsightly. However, cracks or pits in asphalt can lead to further potholes in the driveway if left untreated or unrepaired. If you are noticing any kind of cracking or potholes in your driveway, no matter how small, you should have it inspected by a professional to see what, if anything, needs to be done.
After Winter
The wintertime can be very hard on your driveway. If it is a year of particularly heavy snowfall, it could have a big impact on your driveway. Fluctuating temperatures between freezing and warmer temps could cause cracking and potholes to form. If you use snow tires or snow chains when it snows, you could also do some damage to your driveway from these tools that keep you safe on the roads.
It is a good idea to have your driveway inspected by a professional after the winter months when the driveway is no longer expanding and contracting. At that point, the concrete or asphalt will show its signs of wear and damage, and the contractor can determine if it is best to repair or replace the driveway.
You should also have your asphalt driveway sealed every year. After winter and when other repairs are made is a great time to have this done.
